In Design & Technology we aim to equip pupils with the skills and knowledge they need to participate in the ever-changing world. They do this through designing and making products they are proud of and that are of a high quality.
Key Stage 3
At KS3 pupils are taught DT on a termly basis and follow the National Curriculum. Pupils will gain knowledge and understanding within the following aspects of DT:-

Key Stage 4
At Key Stage 4 pupils can opt to take design and technology. They work towards an AQA entry level certificate in Design and Technology if level 3 or below or Short Course GCSE: Design and Technology if level 4 or above. Entry Level is a modular course so outcomes can vary on the pupils’ interests and abilities. The outcomes are:
It is a two year course and assessment is through Teacher assessment and a portfolio of work which is externally moderated.
The short course GCSE is a two year course and assessment is through a 20 hour controlled assessment task set by AQA and an externally assessed 1 hour written paper.
