“I would like to thank all the team for their work with Naomi over this half term. Since she has been at Treetops (September 2009) she has progressed in leaps and bounds both in maturity and personality, as well as academically. Special thanks to everybody especially the staff in 1MA and Miss Marsh". (Janet Crossley)
“Codey is still very happy at school and looks forward to going. Codey has discovered some of his favourite subjects now. He loves building on his independence via school trips. Codey is pleased he can join in football as this means he can improve his skills and we can pick him up”. (Helen Haydon)
“Treetops is a wonderful school. My son receives one to one care during the day giving him structure. The school gives Jack the opportunity to try so many different things. His needs are totally looked after and he has progressed really well in the 3 ½ years he has been there. Jack is a happy little boy and always comes home with a smile on his face”. (Rachel Sparrow)
“I would like to say my son Elliot Deamer started Treetops in September, has settled so quick and wears trousers, shirt and shoes which he wouldn’t wear before. He is so happy to come to school and I feel that he is in a very positive place at Treetops in the VB department”. (Ashley Woodward)
“We are so pleased with Daniel’s progress over the past year. Daniel worked really hard and achieved 4 GCSE’s. Thank you to the staff at school. A special thank you to Mr Simmonds, Mr Meek and Mr Coles”. (Karen Leaman)
“My son Sonny Scott started in Sept 09 in class 1 and the staff at Treetops could not have been more accommodating if they tried. We were given the opportunity to have a few taster days and for me to go in and sit with his teachers and complete a daily programme of Sonny’s needs, medicines etc. He has a lot of medical problems and allergies but Treetops have made every little worry disappear. They were very happy to meet every little need regardless.
As Sonny wears an apneca monitor when asleep (as he stops breathing), he will probably nap at school as he gets so tired so they arranged for me to come in before the September term and personally show each member of staff how his monitor works and what to do if it goes off and the position he has to be in etc (to sleep).
Sonny attended and I also attended too. Treetops have made me very at ease in all they have done and provided for my son to be safe and happy at school. I cannot be happier and do not worry about him as I know he is in safe hands. I would like to thank everyone for making this possible. Thank you. Sonny took a while to settle but is now very happy. Since he has been at school, which has only been a few weeks, he has been reading books plus he is now going to the toilet on his special chair regularly which is brilliant news”. (Teresa Hinton)
“Anna loves coming to school and is usually very happy at school. She is making progress but very slowly academically and is still struggling socially, especially with other children. Excellent liaison between staff and family”. (Irene Gillan)
“Since starting Treetops in September 09, Connor is so much happier. It is now a pleasure waking him up in the mornings. He is up, washed and dressed and waiting to go to school and that means so much to me when he walks out the door with a smile on his face knowing he will be going to school and really enjoying himself and when he gets home, he is full of chatter about the things he has done. Thank you so much Treetops”. (Miss Anderson)
“Our daughter Kacey-Lee is in class VB1 at Treetops. When we first realised that Kacey suffered with Autism, we were keen that she should be treated as ‘normal’ and that she should attempt a mainstream education. Although we knew of Treetops and were at the time being visited by June Brewer from the Portage service who always spoke of the good work the school achieved, we did not want Kacey ‘labelled’ as being disabled. We had heard stories of children with disabilities being left an ignored in special needs organisations and did not want this for our little girl. To us, Kacey is an extra special child and we were seeking somewhere that would bring out what Kacey-Lee could try achieve and not just give up on her because she would need that extra time spent gaining this. Sadly Kacey’s time in a mainstream school didn’t work out and although the staff there were very pleasant, they just didn’t seem equipped to give the specialist help that Kacey would need.
For this reason, Kacey-Lee entered Treetops Nursery in September 2008 with us not really sure what to expect. A year later, what are our feelings??.... It was the best move we ever made!! We have watched our child turn from being shy and withdrawn, refusing to play, eat solid food or mix with other children, into a happy, confident little girl. I am thrilled to report that thanks to the Treetops feeding programme, Kacey-Lee was eating school dinners within a few weeks and will now pretty much eat anything. Kacey is getting better and better at tolerating other children and is mastering progress targets every week. Although there is obviously a long way to go with Kacey, we realise that in Mr Smith and his staff, we had found at Treetops exactly what we had been looking for….somewhere that shared our dreams for Kacey, that wanted exactly what we did…..a positive future and to make sure she achieved what she can and wasn’t held back by what she couldn’t.
Kacey-Lee loves coming to Treetops and has adored all three therapists that she has been with so far. When we drop Kacey to school in the morning, she is really happy to see Lisa, her current therapist, and runs to greet her. As a parent, knowing that your child is happy and not apprehensive to be left at school is the icing on the cake and to know that if you do have any concerns or questions, Treetops staff are always available to help, really puts your mind at ease. Thank you again for all the help you have given Kacey-Lee and we are looking forward to seeing her progress and following all her achievements in the years to come.” (Wendy Collins)
“Sophie loves coming to school. Sophie achieves more and more every week. The highlight of Sophie’s achievements last year was the 2 week trip to Tenerife which is something we never thought would be possible. Sophie had a fantastic time and got to try a lot of things she would never have done before. Over the years she has been at Treetops, she has rewarded the patience and hard work of the staff and has blossomed. She has grown into a happy and calm young lady. Thank you”. (Lisa and David Kay)
“Rhys appears to be doing well at school. Being in the behavioural unit and having 1:1 has been extremely helpful to Rhys and he is doing so well. Rhys appears happy – if Rhys is happy we are. It all goes to Mrs Love and VB3 and VB4 staff for being such dedicated people and so so caring. Thank you”. (Malcolm and Pauline Martin)
“The secure and fun learning environment, combined with the methodical approach to learning, has enabled Marcus to develop essential communication and social skills. After 6 weeks at Treetops he said ‘hello’ for the very first time and his toilet training was achieved in 2 – 3 weeks, just before his 5th birthday. I have been overwhelmed at times by the commitment/devotion of staff to assisting Marcus to meet his learning goals and the genuine joy expressed when skills are developed and targets achieved. I feel that the school is a partner in the overall development of my child and that we are undertaking this complex, uncertain journey together”. (Sarah Snow)
“Kira has grown in confidence since coming here. She enjoys every aspect of school and looks forward to arriving every day. Treetops I feel gives the perfect environment for her to thrive and gives her a real sense of belonging”. (Lesley Freeman)

“She has worked hard and I am pleased she has worked hard well and this school has done her the world of good”. (Vivien Moore)
“Since Jamie started at Treetops in January he has grown in confidence. He settled in straight away and is very happy. He takes part in many after school clubs which he loves and couldn’t do in mainstream. We as parents feel he is getting a good education within a setting that meets his needs. The staff are fantastic and we are confident this is the best place for him”. (Joanne and Cliff Jeyes)
